On January 16, 2010, Laurie gave birth to a 6-foot-tall, 125-pound baby giraffe. Female giraffes have their babies standing up so when they are born they drop 6 feet to the ground. This is a startling way to enter the world, but Marigold handled it well. Mom and baby are doing great and are eagerly awaiting visitors to Texas' most visited safari park from all over the world.
